LITTLE OAKS MONTESSORI COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

Little Oaks Montessori Kindergarten firmly believes in giving back to the community. In so doing, we hope to educate the children about making a positive contribution to their world.

Some of the greatest social changes have been brought about by people who have felt an obligation to make a positive contribution to their world.

Cultivating this sense of social responsibility in the children has, aside from the obvious benefit of being an investment in our future, a significant effect on their moral development. In addition, it broadens their perspective, encouraging them to think beyond themselves.

We encourage parents' active participation in our socially conscious projects as well.

Involving the family as a whole in socially conscious projects show that such values are expected by the parents to be a significant part of the moral development of their children.

In this way, parents make valuable contributions to both society and to their children's own personal well-being. It is these type of efforts that ensure the continued improvement of the basic human condition.

With this in mind, Little Oaks Montessori works hand in hand with a wide gamut of organisations on a broad spectrum of initiatives, including the following:

GAT (Gift & Take)

GAT is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise with the mission of raising the dignity of the marginalized through economic and psychological independence.

Little Oaks Montessori Kindergarten, in conjunction with GAT, organized an Easter parade on 2nd April 2010.

For this event, parent-child teams designed animal patchwork which originate from physically challenged Vietnamese. Such sessions bring alive values of love, care and compassion.
